Orangutans are very strong animal with long arms, the adult male weight up to 100 kilogram. They can live up to 45 years old and start breeding between 12 and 15 years old, with nine months gestation period as a woman. As a great ape, orangutan is the humankind’s closest living relative in the animal kingdom, it can be seen when they are approaching and asking man to feed them.
Orangutans are perfectly adapted to live in the forest, they are rarely descending to the forest floor, they build their nomadic nest on different tree every night, with material of twigs and tree branches, with diets including; fruit, young plants, bark, and insects.
Tour Itenary :
Meet at airport and directly transfer to Buntok town for about 4 hours driving across pristine lowland forest and peat swamp landscape. Arrive at Buntok and directly transfer to lodge for check in. Next, we will drive for about 20 minutes to Sanggu forest to explore black orchids and other species as well as carnivorous pitcher plants, and then continue our trip by boating in Sanggu Lake to enjoy the beautiful panorama and sunset outlook. Afterwards, return to the lodge for overnight. (L,D)
After breakfast at camp, we will be trekking back to Masura village then return to Buntok town by motorized canoe crossing under the canopy of the romantic Paken Creek where proboscis monkeys, long tail macaques, monitor lizards and other wild animals are hanging around the riverside. Arrive at Buntok town and directly transfer to the lodge. Lunch will be served en route, dinner and overnight on lodge. (B,L,D)
